The LPOW Watershed Discovery Camp: Science, Service and Stewardship

The Lake Pend Oreille Watershed is full of wonderful discoveries and fun summer activities. One of our very favorites is Watershed Discovery Camp, held in Sandpoint each summer in July. LPOW partners with the Eureka Institute to host this fun-filled week of hands-on science, service and stewardship experiences for students. Camp is geared for kids 8-12 years of age. If you've got a curious and creative kid in your life, they're sure to have a blast at Watershed Discovery Camp!
We had a blast with our campers this summer and we're looking forward to 2019! Our campers learned about water quality monitoring, went on field trips to the Kootenai Wildlife Refuge and the Clark Fork watercraft inspection station (to look for invasive species hitch hikers), challenged themselves on the Tree to Tree ropes course, went kayaking and paddle boarding on Sand Creek, and participated in local service and stewardship projects, water-themed games at City Beach, crafts and much more! Camp is limited to 20 students and will fill quickly, so register your camper early! Online registration will begin in April, 2019.
Camp schedule:
